Who We Are

Sophie McComas-Williams, Director

A creative thinker and fast mover, Sophie McComas-Williams is a celebrated Australian writer and editor with a near-decade's experience in food and travel media. Prior to co-founding Buffet and executing all things social media, creative strategy and editorial, Sophie was the first editor of Broadsheet Sydney, leading it to become one of the most influential digital food publications in the country. As digital editor of Australian Gourmet Traveller, she worked on creating premium branded content for partners such as American Express, Destination Canada and Lindt. Way back when, she published a personal food and travel blog that was awarded Australia’s best. It’s gone now though, so don’t try to find it.

Nikki To, Director

Nikki To is a boundary-pushing photographer and visual creator known for her work with Australia’s most respected restaurants including Quay, Icebergs Dining Room & Bar, The Apollo and Automata. Her distinct, polished photographic style informs her creative direction as co-founder of Buffet, and has propelled her to work with brands such as Jamie Oliver and Google Food. She’s shot entire books, too, including a wild pop-up cake book with baking extraordinaire Katherine Sabbath and a lush cookbook for Pinetrees Lodge on Lord Howe Island. She’s known in some circles to be the inventor of the food-focused GIF, however she prefers not to comment on this matter.
