We acknowledge the 29 clans of the Eora Nation, the Traditional Owners of this land.
We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging, and recognise the continuing connection to lands, waters and communities.
Twenty years since its doors first opened to the Bondi horizon, Maurice Terzini’s Icebergs Dining Room and Bar reopened once more. After a lengthy renovation and subsequent hiatus, a reintroduction of this seminal Sydney restaurant was needed, to its home city and the world, reminding diners why Icebergs is so special, and ensuring it remains so for the next twenty years and more.
In the words of Terzini himself, we’re all merely stewards of this place, we do not own it, it belongs to everyone. The Icebergs of today doesn’t aim to stand out as a shining beacon on the Bondi cliffs, but rather evolve into invisibility, offering an alluring space that blends sea, sky and land.
It is as much an enduring part of Sydney as anything else, and after months of closure, we grasped the opportunity to plant the seed of newness via a relaunch content strategy that focused on its magnetism and connection to the landscape. A 4am call time saw us shoot down at the waves at dawn on Super 8 film, linking the people, food, wine and building with the movement of the water and the ever-changing horizon – visible from every corner of Icebergs.
Content across social and EDM highlighted words from the recently Icebergs book, celebrating 20 years, and accentuated the blend of colour, light, produce and people that make up the venue’s intrinsic, utterly Sydney DNA. We continue this approach as a creative partner of Icebergs, collaborating daily with their team.
